Zimanga Photo Boat

THE ZIMANGA PHOTO BOAT

A recent addition to activities is the custom-built Zimanga Photo Boat.  This craft is always available for guests to use and is based at its permanent mooring on the large Hlambanyathi dam.  No bookings are required for the boat, so please inform your ranger during your visit if you would like to spend some time on the water and our rangers will keep their eyes peeled for activity around the main lake

The photo boat is best utilised in the southern hemisphere summer when elephants regularly swim during this warmer season.  Spending time silently floating amongst the herd whilst they frolic in the cooling waters has been a highlight of several guest’s trip to Zimanga.  A spotlight socket is available for the opportunity to photograph drinking lions should they be found in close proximity of the lake around sunset
