THE HOMESTEAD
The Doornhoek Homestead is booked on a daily rate (groups only) and can sleep up to 7 guests in 3 air-conditioned, en-suite Twin or Kind bed rooms, and 1 en-suite single room/guide room, also air-conditioned. Meals are provided and prepared by an in-house chef. Depending on weather, meals can either be served in the dining area or on the spacious deck.
During the daytime guests can relax in the beautiful rim-flow pool, from which elephants have been known to slake their thirst whilst guests sit a few meters away.
Homestead packages entail the same suite of activities as their Main Lodge counterparts, with hide accessibility also being dependent on the duration of stay.
At night the fireplace with comfortable seating makes it an ideal location to enjoy a glass of wine, with the wide open African skies and a small fire keeping you company. All rooms have separate desks to set up laptops for image editing, with ample space and a variety of electricity sockets to make sure one’s equipment remains fully charged. Please note that the voltage in SA is 220v. Access to hides will be determined based on the duration of stay as per the booked package description. Please note with group bookings at the Homestead, 3 or 4 guests are allocated per hide session, including the overnight hides.
